The park is located in Honolulu, on the east end of Waikīkī, and is home to the Waikiki Shell entertainment venue and the Honolulu Zoo. The park also o ers picnic areas, a 4.8km jogging track with aerobic exercise stations, 100-year-old trees, soccer elds, grassy areas and tennis courts. Picnic perfect -- just minutes west of Waikīkī is the free-entry Ala Moana Beach Park o ering 31 hectares of grassy areas, a wide almost 1km-long golden-sand beach and gentle waters. The Honolulu Fish Auction is based on the famous Tokyo sh auction, where large sh are sold individually. In most other parts of the world, sh are sold to wholesalers who generally control pricing. However, the United Fishing Agency in Honolulu operates on a di erent business model which ensures individual shermen receive fair prices. In return, buyers representing retailers, wholesalers and restaurants gain access to the freshest sh. Bidding is conducted in an open, competitive forum, with higher-quality sh scoring higher prices.
